The six months to June 2010 resulted in a material increase in pressure on marketers according to the most recent update of the PM Forum Pressure Index. Perhaps unsurprisingly, 34% of the 200 respondents to the survey are looking for a new job – up from 24% in December. The ‘double dip’ increase was due to material changes to four of the five Index components: headcount reductions; intra-year budget changes; overtime; and replacing leavers.The fifth component (use of external consultants) was unchanged. A base of 100 is assumed for a pressure-free environment.
