Client feedback
Tuesday 20 April -
8.30am to 10.00am - Breakfast
Almost all professional services firms gather client feedback one way or another, either by
undertaking independent partner reviews, key account reviews, post transactional feedback or
other means; but which method is best?
In its simplest form, client feedback can assist in the tactical management of client accounts,
but when integrated into the DNA of a firm can become an important information source to
support and manage professional reputation, brand, service delivery, risk, remuneration and
business development activity.

Digital – What is out there, what is it supposed to do and how would it work in professional services?
Monday 10 May -
12.30pm to 2.00pm - Lunch
The way people behave is always changing, and the way we interact with each other is a big
part of this. When you look at how people engaged with each other 10 years ago it is
miles apart from how people communicate today. Actually if you look at how people
communicated 12 months ago it has changed dramatically. People receive emails on their
phone, check messages on Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn, video chat , etc.
It’s interesting to analyse how this affects the way we communicate with our clients.
Client communications has not evolved in the same way as social media and many firms
still rely on the partners to pick up the phone and visit their client’s offices.Whilst
personal communications are still vital the function of marketing and digital channels is to
support those relationships and ensure face to face meetings are as effective as possible.
Edward Weatherall is the joint MD of Concep and has been introducing digital
communications to professional services for over six years. Dwain Thomas is joint MD
of Concep and has worked in digital strategy for over 15 years and has consulted with
global organisations on the implementation of effective digital marketing initiatives. They
have worked with organisations such as Lovells, Baker Tilly, Mazars, DLA Piper and Apple.

Getting buy in
Tuesday 18 May -
8.30am to 10.00am - Breakfast
Working as a marketer in a professional services firm can be a peculiarly frustrating
existence for the faint of heart. Indeed as one senior partner in a law firm once said to me:
“marketing wants to talk to me about strategy but I just want them to stuff envelops!”
Marketing’s ability to support a business effectively, to sell in ideas, and indeed to make
initiatives work depends on its ability to get senior colleagues in the business to buy in for
what marketing can offer in its broadest sense, and to encourage senior colleagues to
adopt and sponsor (and involve themselves directly with) individual initiatives and ideas.
Emily Morris has been marketing director of Rathbone Brothers Plc, a listed investment
management and wealth management firm, for the last five years. She has worked in both
in-house and consultancy roles in advertising, public relations and marketing for over 20
years almost exclusively looking at professional services and financial services firms.
