Presentation skills

New Date  |  Wednesday 29 September 2010 12.30pm to 2.00pm - Lunch

Let’s be honest, for most normal people it’s just a tad frightening to stand up and speak to a group of people: what will they think, what will you sound like, what if you forget your stuff, what if you bore them to death, what will the audience think?

Whether you like it or not, if you hope to be successful, you need to be good on your feet and you might as well get the basics right as soon as poss. Fortunately, that’s what this session is about: giving you the basics so that next time your boss asks for a volunteer to deliver the next client seminar you can put your hand up and say “I’ll give that a go.”

Nick Davies runs his own training company, www.reallygreattraining.co.uk, and teaches lawyers, accountants, senior civil servants and business people, a range of oral communication skills. He was previously a barrister and worked in a UKwide law firm before starting a recruitment business in Scotland. In addition to training Nick also travels the country performing stand-up and is a regular at the Stand Comedy Clubs in Glasgow and Edinburgh. He also delivers after dinner speeches, hosts charity auctions and award ceremonies.
