Welcome to PM Forum West Midlands

The PM Forum is a 4,000 strong, regionally-based members' association, dedicated to raising the standards of professional services marketing and to enhancing the credibility of marketers working in professional service firms worldwide.

Meetings

The West Midlands region's events take place in Birmingham city centre at various venues kindly provided by the city's leading firms. Our meetings are attended by professionals who travel from far and wide across the region including Gloucester, Shrewsbury, Banbury and Derby! We generally get about 30-40 attendees at each meeting, sometimes more.

Six seminar-style meetings are planned per year, as well as a social event in the Summer. Details and a booking form for our next event will be announced shortly. Links to reports on previous events can be found below.

Topics

The West Midlands events programme focuses on delivering practical 'how to' style event. Events focus on the needs of in-house marketers and those working in SME's for whom membership can be seen as a lifeline to local expertise, support and guidance.

Attendees

We attract a diverse audience from professional services firms including partners and senior fee-earners with a marketing remit, and agencies or suppliers to the sector. We are actively seeking to grow and further diversify our membership, particularly among the property-related professions.

As a membership organisation, only members of the Forum, or regional employees of firms that are members nationally are eligible to attend our events and benefit from other features such as the monthly magazine professional marketing, the online Article Bank and Job Bank. However, those interested in joining are welcome to attend one event as our guest in order to get a feel for the Forum. Networking as part of influence and persuasion

Birmingham - Thursday 4 December 2008

Gone are the days when you could get people to do what you wanted by barking orders at them.

The subtle art of persuasion and the deft craft of influence are powerful business development tools - and networking is where it all starts.

The PM Forum in the West Midlands have secured Nick Davies of The Really Great Training Company to help you learn all you need to know to be great at influencing and persuading, through the networking skills that should be at the heart of every professional’s and marketer’s toolkit.

About the speaker:
From sales rep to barrister, recruitment consultant to award ceremony host, stand-up comic to founder of The Really Great Training Company: Nick Davies is UNIQUE!

As a trainer and coach in a range of communication skills, he travels the country, teaching lawyers and business people (but mainly lawyers), how to pitch, present, network, sell and persuade. Clients include: Allen & Overy, Addleshaws, Ashurst, BLP, Capsticks, DLA Piper, Eversheds, DWF, DWS, Halliwells, Herbert Smith, Manches, Matheson Ormsby & Prentice, Mills & Reeve, Linklaters, Nabarro, Osborne Clarke, Pinsent Mason, Shearman & Sterling and Weightmans.
